About the new services

The NDL will discontinue its present NDL-OPAC service when it launches a new National Diet Library Online Search and Request Service (NDL Online) this coming January. NDL Online will provide users with greater convenience when searching for library materials or requesting library services. The NDL Online service features a new English-language interface, which allows patrons to make requests via either the English interface or the Japanese one. In addition, a new National Diet Library Bibliographic Records Service (NDL-Bib) for downloading bibliographic data will also be launched at the same time.
These two services replace the former NDL-OPAC system and each will operate on exclusive servers.

  1. The National Diet Library Online Search and Request Service (NDL Online)
Search for library materials and request library services.
  2. National Diet Library Bibliographic Records Service (NDL-Bib)
Search for and download bibliographic records.
