2017-11-27 Friday, February 23, 2018, International Policy Seminar: Current Situation and Issues of Foreign Workers in the EU with a Focus on Germany

Faced with increased global competition and an aging population, Japan continues to debate policy measures that would allow an influx of foreign workers. The National Diet Library is pleased to sponsor a seminar and lecture, featuring Dr. Albrecht Weber, a specialist in Germany’s Foreigners Law and EU Law, as part of our interdisciplinary research project FY2017 "The European Union at the Crossroads."

In his lecture, Dr. Weber will examine issues related to foreign workers in Germany, after which a panel of Japanese experts in both EU and German Law will discuss related issues.
