2018-4-11 Research Materials featuring reports in Japanese on such topics as "Perspectives on Artificial Intelligence/Robotics and Work/Employment," "Infrastructure for Data-Driven Society," and "Policy Decisions and Scientific Literacy" to be issued on March 30, 2018

These reports are the results of year-long research projects conducted by the Research and Legislative Reference Bureau of the National Diet Library in cooperation with academics and other experts.

The report "Perspectives on Artificial Intelligence/Robotics and Work/Employment" analyzes current trends in artificial intelligence and robotics as well as their impact on work and employment. This report also discusses technologies used in AI and robotics, such as machine learning, natural language processing, the Internet of Things, and other related trends.

The report "Infrastructure for Data-Driven Society" discusses technologies for the effective use of big data, current issues related to the training of data scientists and legal issues faced in the configuration of a data-driven society, and predictions of future trends.

The report "Policy Decisions and Scientific Literacy" identified the roles that technology can play in political policy making and discussed how evidence-based policy-making and the scientific literacy are necessary for policy decisions.
