  National Diet Library Genre/Form Terms "議会資料 (Gikai shiryo : Legislative materials)", "児童図書 (Jido tosho : Children's book)", "漫画 (Manga : Comics)" and "楽譜 (Gakufu : Notated music)" began to be assigned to the foreign materials (books and non-books) in March 2024.

The changes in the two manuals are about the following.

The new National Diet Library Genre/Form Terms "楽譜 (Gakufu : Notated music)", "コンピュータゲーム (Kompyuta gemu : Computer game)" and "アニメーション (Animeshon : Animation)" were added. The National Diet Library Genre/Form Terms "漫画 (Manga : Comics)" and "議会資料 (Gikai shiryo : Legislative materials)" began to be assigned to the serials.

• The Japanese Periodicals Index (Online Periodicals), approximately 24,000 records, is available on NDL Online and NDL Search.
