2024-2-13 Termination schedule of microfilming and microform duplication service

We are planning to close the acceptance of applications for the microfilming and microform duplication service, due to difficulty in stably acquiring equipment and materials.

Photoduplication services scheduled to be discontinued

• Photographic microfilming
• Inter-film printing （Printing from microfilm to microfilm or from microfiche to microfiche）

Scheduled date of termination

• Photoduplication service for visitors (Later date photoduplication (sent by mail))
• The Tokyo Main Library and the Kansai-kan : March 30, 2024
• The International Library of Children's Literature : March 31, 2024
• Remote photoduplication service
• Request via the Internet: March 31, 2024
• Request by postal mail: March 30, 2024
• *For requests sent via postal mail, we will accept applications received by the Kansai-kan no later than March 30, 2024.

We are currently considering new services to provide after the above application period ends. The new service that replaces microfilming will print captured images of materials that cannot be copied using the regular copying method (rare books and old materials, deteriorated materials, etc.) on paper.
We will continue to provide paper copy services from microfilms or microfiches.
