- Description
- A disciple of Utagawa Kuniyoshi. Specialized in yakusha-e (actor prints) and bijin-e (prints depicting beautiful women) and also worked on musha-e (prints of samurai or military subjects) and rekishi-ga (historical paintings). From the Meiji Era onward he worked on illustrations for illustrated ukiyoe newspapers.
