Businessman. Born in Fukagawa, Tokyo. In 1871, he entered the Mitsui Goyosho and when it changed its name to Mitsui Ginko(Mitsui Bank Ltd.) in 1876 he became manager of its Yokohama Branch. In 1886, he retired from the bank and with his partners established the Tokyo Boseki Gaisha. As a president-director of the company, he contributed to the development of the spinning industry in Japan.
