Military officer. Born in Ehime. In 1872, he moved up to Tokyo to enter the army Kyododan (school for noncommissioned officers) and then the Army Toyama School. He went to the front during the Sino-Japanese War. In 1903, he became a colonel and in 1904 served in the Russo-Japanese War as logistics administrator of the Fourth Army. In 1906, he became a major general. After retirement, he devoted himself to the improvement of education in his home town.
