Icon painter. After graduating from the Kobu Bijutsu Gakko (the Technical Fine Arts School) in 1877, she studied Western painting under Italian painter Antonio Fontanesi. While attending school she converted to Russian Orthodox and went to Russia to study icon painting in 1880. After her return to Japan in 1883, based in the Holy Resurrection Cathedral (Nikorai-do) in Kanda she produced icon paintings for churches around the country. Her notable works include Juni Taisaizu (The Twelve Great Feasts) in the Hakodate Orthodox Church.
