Violinist, pianist and music educator. In 1885, she graduated from Ongaku Torishirabe-Gakari (later, Tokyo Music School). In 1889, she went to study abroad in Europe and the United States, and in 1895 she became a professor at the Tokyo Music School (later, Tokyo University of the Arts) and worked to educate younger generations. She founded the Shinseikai in 1911, and worked to popularize music at home. Younger sister of GUNJI Naritada and KODA Rohan, and elder sister of ANDO Ko.
