Novelist. At the age of 19 her novel Onnake (Femininity) and poem “Kanashimi” (Sadness) were selected for publication by the magazine Joshi Bundan. After marrying she travelled around the country following her newspaper writer husband, and settled in Tokyo around 1917. In 1922 she became a contributor to the women’s magazine Shojochi (No Man’s Land) published by Shimazaki Toson, socialized with Hiratsuka Raicho, and continued writing. Her other works include a story collection, Kanashiki Haibun (Sad Distribution) (1923), and an essay collection, Yumei-ki (1940).
