Epilogue

Rimpa continues to make leaps forward, affecting modern art and society. In the 21st century, the concept and definition of the word "Rimpa" took on a more extended meaning.
At the 琳派 RIMPA exhibition held at the National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo in 2004, "Rimpa influence" was discovered even in the works of foreign artists of the 20th century, such as Henri Matisse (1869-1954) and Andy Warhol (1928-1987), and their works were exhibited as Rimpa. The name "Rimpa" is derived from Ogata Korin, but it has become a universal name beyond that individual. The universality of the name seems to indicate the universal beauty of Rimpa art.
As we've seen so far, Rimpa resonates with the hearts of people today beyond differences in time and place, and creates new beauty blending into our daily lives. This phenomenon might be explained by the tolerance of the Rimpa school.
