As of April 8, 2024, Mr. Edy Irwan was appointed as the 16th Director General of the National Library of Malaysia. Drawing on over 24 years of invaluable experience in the library profession, he has played a significant role in the transformation of libraries amid a rapidly evolving information landscape.
Mr. Edy Irwan's leadership is driven by a renewed vision for the National Library of Malaysia:
"To be the leading centre of knowledge and digital information, driving lifelong learning and empowering a knowledgeable society in the global era".
Mr. Edy Irwan also looks forward to strengthening collaboration with national libraries across Asia and Oceania through platforms like CDNLAO, to build a smart synergy for a future-ready global library community.
