Description

Writer and statesman. Son of INUKAI Tsuyoshi. He dropped out of the Tokyo Imperial University Department of Literature and worked as a writer of the Shirakaba group. He was elected as a member of the House of Representatives as part of the Rikken Seiyukai (the Association of Friends of the Constitution) in 1930. When his father became prime minister, he became a secretary to the prime minister. When World War II ended, he was expelled from public office, but later became president of the Democratic Party in 1948 after the ban was lifted. Joined the Liberal Party in 1951. He was given the post of Justice Minister in the fourth and fifth Yoshida cabinets in 1952 but resigned due to a shipbuilding scandal.
