As the NDL belongs to the Diet, its annual revenues and expenditures are in the national budget. The total amount of the initial budget appropriated for NDL is approximately 20,201 million yen for FY2024 beginning in April 2024.
Approximately 2,222 million yen is allocated for library materials as follows:
