The basics of children's literature: Fascinating nature of picture books ―Connecting various readers with colorful themes

Introduction

In this lecture, we will look at a wide range of picture books that includes both best-sellers and lesser known works spread across genres as diverse as science and biography as we consider different points of view in evaluating and selecting picture books for children.
The content of this video is based on an ILCL lecture series on children's literature entitled "The Basics of Children's Literature: From Picture Books to Young Adult Fiction" that was given on November 11 and 12, 2019, by Ms. Sachiyo HOSOE, editor and part-time lecturer at Shirayuri University.
Note: The lecturer's titles are as they were at the time of recording.
