2021-1-27 Approximately 600 sound recordings of the Historical Recordings Collection (Rekion) are newly available online.

On January 27, the National Diet Library (NDL) made approximately 600 sound recordings of the Historical Recordings Collection (Rekion) available for streaming online.

Examples of sound recordings:

• 『芸術的楽曲の解剖と鑑賞：ソナタ形式（一）（Beethoven Piano Sonata　Op.13）』
  …A recording of Yamada Kosaku's commentary on Beethoven's piano sonatas.
• 『あかがり』
  …A song set to music by Nobutoki Kiyoshi, based on a verse from a Kagura song.
• 『歌謡曲：ゴンドラの唄』
  …A popular song beginning with "Inochi mijikashi, Koiseyo otome." This recording is sung by Ito Hisao.
• 『管絃樂　ウヰリアム・テル－行進曲－』
  …Conducted by Konoe Hidemaro. A classical piece loved by many people.

The total number of recordings contained in Rekion is about 50,000 items. Approximately 5,500 of them are provided on the internet, while others are available only on the premises of the NDL and about 320 Rekion partner libraries in Japan and overseas.
