Q
Can I order materials from other facilities (the Tokyo Main Library, the Kansai-kan Library, and the International Library of Children's Literature) and then read them?
A
You can read materials ordered from the Kansai-kan Library in the Tokyo Main Library, and you can read materials ordered from the Tokyo Main Library or the International Library of Children's Literature in the Kansai-kan Library. (However, there are some materials that cannot be ordered.) It is not possible to order materials from the International Library of Children's Literature in the Tokyo Main Library.
In addition, the International Library of Children's Literature does not provide any services for ordering materials from the Tokyo Main Library or the Kansai-kan Library.
User registration is required to apply for ordering materials.

Q
After applying to order materials, when is the soonest they will be available for use?
A
The soonest that ordered materials will be available for use will be three business days for the Library (or five business days if this includes materials ordered at the Kansai-kan Library from the International Library of Children's Literature) after ordering at the Library.
Applications made via NDL Search will take six business days. However, because only a limited number of applications are processed each day, in some cases ordered materials may not be available in the soonest possible time.
