e. 極東委員会文書（FEC-031 日本国憲法制定関連）

極東委員会 (FEC) は、1945年12月末のモスクワ外相会議で設置が決定された、米英中ソを中心とした連合国の日本占領管理に関する最高レベルの政策決定機関。日本がポツダム宣言の規定する降伏条項を履行するために準拠しなければならない政策、原則及び基準の作成をその任務とし、その政策決定に従って米国政府が作成した指令が連合国最高司令官に伝達された。FEC-031シリーズは、FECの政策決定文書のうち日本国憲法制定に関するもので、FEC-031/1、FEC- 031/2...と文書番号が付された。このシリーズには、FECが日本国憲法制定への関与の希望を表明した「日本の憲法の採択に関する手続きについて連合国最高司令官と協議する要求」、文民条項の必要性を盛り込んだ「新憲法の基本原則」、憲法の再検討を決定した「新憲法の再検討に関する規定」等の各文書が含まれている。
