Q
Can I get copies expanded or reduced in size? Can I select the size of printing paper?
A
The Library reserves the right to choose the size of copy paper within the scope outlined in the Photocopy Fee Chart, although we will sometimes offer the patron a choice from several alternatives.
The Library strives to handle a large number of copy requests promptly and fairly with limited staff resources. Therefore, it is not possible to fulfill special individual requests such as expansion (zooming) or size reduction of copies. All requests are handled uniformly. Thank you for your understanding.
Please see also Using the NDL Photoduplication Services.

Q
Do any restrictions apply when making copies?
A
Photoduplication services are conducted on the basis of copyright law, as well as other relevant laws. (Please refer to the section on Information about Copyright.)
Also, for reasons of material conservation, restrictions may be placed on copyinxg methods or may forbid copying entirely.
Furthermore, in order to offer this service to a large number of people, the Library limits the number of titles and number of pages copied per application, and is unable to fulfill special orders for copying methods or provision of copied materials etc.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Q
Can I copy the latest issue of a magazine? To what extent can they be copied?
A
It is not possible to copy the latest issues of magazines or newspapers. Articles in any issue except the latest one of a magazine or newspaper may be copied in their entirety.
Multiple articles may be copied from a single issue, but the total pages copied must not exceed half of all the pages in the issue.
Any issue of a serial publication can be copied, provided that a significant period of time has passed since publication of the latest issue.
